βοΈπͺπΈ Madrid, Spain: a spontaneous city guide
Madrid was a spontaneous trip - I really didnβt have many expectations going in, I just wanted to spend quality time with my family. To my surprise, the food was absolutely amazing. We really did not have any mediocre experiences, everything was outstanding!
βοΈ A love letter to tomatoes: Iβve always been a tomato fan but but this trip made me truly appreciate their simplicity. Pan Con Tomate is humble yet flavorful: toasted bread, grated ripe tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and salt. If thereβs Pan Con Tomate on the menu, order it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
π Toma CafΓ© β an instant βcoup de coeurβ for me. I fell in love with it before even going there, the branding is attractive, the menu is authentic yet modern, the food is fantastic.
Aove. Tomate aka Pan con Tomate: so simple and sooo goood
Mantequilla. Ajo Negro. Limon Quemado aka butter, black garlic & burnt lemon: I would eat this everyday
π Santo Bakehouse β very cute bakery with a nice selection of pastries
Croissant Chips: highly addictive caramelized croissant slices, crazy good that we went back to get 3 more bags!
π Acid Cafe β very modern and cool cafe. A nice stop during the day when you need a break from exploring.
πRoostiq β exceptional.
Roostiq Chicken (Deboned Leg) with Truffled Mashed Potatoes: a masterpiece!!!
Cheesecake with whipped cream and amaretto: the star of the show. They recommend you first try the cheesecake alone then try it with cream & amaretto... heavenly
Wood-Fired Confit Artichokes, Calzone with Truffled Ham and ComtΓ© Cheese, Burrata with Cherry Tomatoes & Green Pesto Pizza
π Restaurante OjalΓ‘ β A great spot for drinks and tapas. We were curious to know why itβs called a βBeach Barβ when weβre in the middle of Madrid, but once we went downstairs to the sous-sol, it all made sense!
Tinto de Verano: Similar to (and better than) Sangria. Equal parts red wine and soda, so refreshing.
